Having a mother and father is great, but people do grow up with any assortment of variations on the theme of parental figures. It doesn't matter whether it's okay or not, it is a reality. And these children should not be devalued or thought less of simply because they don't have your ideal of a mother and father. If anything, we should do what we can to elevate their dignity and worth. Allowing the children of same-sex couples to marry is one way of doing just that. | Deekers, I see what you are saying too. And I do want for children, really for all people to have a right sense of self-worth and dignity. Especially children.
But it is humanly impossible to have a child without the genesis of sex between a man and a woman, i.e. a father and a mother.
What happens to that union thereafter is a tragedy if they do not stay together and provide for the child together in a nurturing environment of security and love, both for each other and for the child. THAT is the ideal and consistent with the only potential anatomically that makes a baby... a man (father) and a woman (mother)...
