Not quite.

There are certain qualifiers involved in joining any religion (baptism, communion, bar mitzvah, etc), just as there are qualifiers involved in joining the institution of marriage (age, choice of partner, unmarried, etc).

Some people with perpetual victim mentalities prefer to think of qualifiers as a form of discrimination, but that is more of a personal issue for them.
