Congratulations, Bishop Robinson! NH Gay Bishop, Partner United In Civil Union by The Associated Press Posted: June 8, 2008 - 9:30 am ET (Concord, New Hampshire) The Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire says the first openly gay Episcopal bishop and his partner have been united in a private civil union. The diocese has posted a notice on its Web site saying Bishop V. Gene Robinson was legally joined to Mark Andrew in a civil ceremony Saturday. They have been partners for 20 years. Civil unions became legal in New Hampshire this year. The diocese says a religious service of thanksgiving followed the civil ceremony which was attended by close friends and family. It's so nice to read some GOOD news that has happened to this brave man! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Conservatism: Self-centered mean-spiritedness fueled by ignorance and misguided self-importance.
