That's not entirely true.

The United States IS founded on Judeo-Christian religious traditions even though the Constitution perpetuates freedom of religion and forbids state run religions.

All of the rights enumerated in the Constitution are claimed to have been bestowed by a higher power.

A lot of people seem to get confused by this important distinction when they talk about a separation of church and state.
