I would like to think that our nation's leader would be admired by the people of other nations, so that they would want to be a part of what we stand for.
This is very humbling, and makes me wonder how we are ever to help people in poor nations to combat starvation and disease, if they despise us, viewing us as bullies and tyrants.
Our President represents us, who we are as a nation. Bush represents us, all of America.
When we sought our freedom from oppressors, it was something in our hearts that all of us wanted, though some did not see it as feasable.
It leaves me with the question, are we truly offering these people freedom? And, if not, just what is it we are offering them? Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty.
