He's only been turned into a radical left-wing liberal by the mass media. When in actuality he's centerist leaning right. Perhaps in the American political spectrum of today he could be considered liberal...afterall, anyone more left then a neo-conservative is painted as being liberal, and if Republican, then being "moderate"; and that somehow connotates that particular individual as being bad to the country. Its all about imagery, constant propaganda.

But if you ask many foreigners to get to know Kerry and his policies and rhetoric, they will tell you that he's actually pretty conservative. Not because all foreign countries are somehow "radically left-wing" as many people would lead you to believe, but rather because this country has taken a turn to the right. If you actually listen to what Kerry was saying, it would be known that he actually used much of the same language as Bush did. He believes in what Bush believes in, its just that he believes Bush is doing a bad job at it.
The differences between the Democratic party and Republican party are greatly magnified and overexaggerated by both sides to make the other seem like they're radical and are out of their mind. Think of the American political spectrum; the whole of the actual political spectrum's right wing. Many people who are actually centerist, or are actually leaning to the left a bit are completely blown out of porportion and labeled as radical left-wing liberal commies. And the same might even happen to actual moderate conservatives like Kerry.

And as you can see, actual left-leaning or left-winged candidates are being pushed out of the American presidential races by the two party system. This is yet evidence of the "One party of America" that many of whom were complaining about, and I think even you hevusa, and probably ridinhighspeeds were complaining about it. You can't say there's just 'one party' which is being controlled by the same corporations and interests in today's American politics if you can't except the fact that the individuals are roughly the same also.
It reminds me of Congress. Most Americans know that most or mostly all of Congress is corrupt, but its the sad fact that Congressmen/women have a reelection success rate of 99%. I mean, that used to be a type of figure we laugh at the Soviet Union for having.
But you ask, if most Americans know they're corrupt, then why to they get reelected so much? Its because everyone has the mentality that "Oh its not my candidate! Its everyone else!" Its not Kerry that's radical, Bush is a nazi! Its not Bush that's radical, Kerry is a commie! etc., etc.,etc. "If you want to achieve peace of mind and happiness, then have faith; if you want to be a disciple of truth, then search" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
