You seem to forget that each and everytime that the minimum wage has been increased, so have PRICES. You complain about $3 a gallon for gas, but under your logic gas would increase to $4 a gallon. So lets raise the minimium wage, and see unemployment increase, and watch as there are less and less jobs available for young unskilled persons.
