Who the heck said it went up???

Last I heard, Bush's "approval" ratings were still plummeting to record new depths...

Washington, May 12 may (PL) President George W. Bush's popularity reached its lowest mark in his presidency, with only 29 percent of the people considering the nation is heading in the right direction.

Bush's job-approval rating fell 6 percentage points from April, according to poll results released by the Wall Street Journal on-line edition.

At least 69 percent of people consulted said "things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track." Only 24 percent considered "things in the country are going in the right direction."

The latest Harris Interactive poll indicated that only a modest 18 percent of people consulted think Congress is doing an "excellent or pretty good job."

The occupation of Iraq, the immigration debate, gas and oil prices and the country's economy remain as key concerns for the general public.
