Here is why there is no 'hope' for me (to the extent that hope = becoming a socialist):
Government ownership of businesses strips people of incentive. All you need to do is take a look at the state of public schools, or mail delivery.
Or,
go into a government office building...
The last time I went to one, I was directed to go down the hall, by a receptionist who seemed annoyed at being interrupted in her nail-polishing.
After two more redirections I was grudgingly helped by a woman wearing bedroom slippers.
People performing this way could never hope to be hired by private employers, or at least kept on for any length of time.
Yet our taxes pay their weekly wages, and they would probably have to pan-fry their supervisors in order to be fired. Quote: |
