go into a government office building...
The last time I went to one, I was directed to go down the hall, by a receptionist who seemed annoyed at being interrupted in her nail-polishing.
After two more redirections I was grudgingly helped by a woman wearing bedroom slippers.
People performing this way could never hope to be hired by private employers, or at least kept on for any length of time.
Yet our taxes pay their weekly wages, and they would probably have to pan-fry their supervisors in order to be fired.
My view of it is that cut-throat capitalism and socialism are twin errors, and one must walk between the two. |
You are thinking of old school traditional socialism.
Under social democracy you own your own business, just like in America.
You may have heard of a little company from a socialist country called IKEA. The owner recently surpassed Bill Gates (if only temporarily) as the world's richest man. And it was started under a SOCIALIST SYSTEM. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence. |
