Or do you suggest people have the right to issue justice on the spot? And how does this keep our society safe on the whole versus something more reasonable?

You can create an extreme scenario where someone has to put a bullet through someone to save thier own life... but on the whole how is that a better plan?
If you enter my home, and are not welcomed, I will warn you, then I will shoot you. And I will be well within my rights. You can not always count on the police to respond in a timely fashion, especially not in a city like Philadelphia...
