The Muslim people in the Middle East lived in relative peaceful autonomy for over 500 years. They were a tribal people and their codes of ethics and morals reflected that but more importantly they were devout Muslims whose soul purpose in live was to live in accordance with God's will. The Ottoman Empire ruled the Middle East for 500 years and accomplished many great things as far as civilizations go. When WWI and imperial Britain and France showed up, that is when the Middle East became what we know today to be a poltically volatile and violent region. Not understanding this piece of history cause many Americans to have a seriously wrong and harmful conceptualization of the Middle East. I can't take anything you say seriously.
