Alias, it really goes both ways though, so eh. I don't agree with what FDR did then, and the Alien and Sedition Acts were atrocious. I don't agree with the actions then or now.
Either way, unless we officially go to war, including the lifestyle changes that happened for the duration of WWII, I would rather my privacy intact. Even in a full-blown war I would prefer privacy over "security" that is dubious at best. I really don't believe that the NSA is limiting their tapping to only calls made to blacklisted countries. There are too many secrets floating around, and the National Security argument is complete bullshit 95% of the time. If the opposite of pro is con, what is Congress? |
