1) Something that is the truth is the truth. Not an opinion. Not just partially, like in the form of a "grain", the truth.
2) Something that is an opinion is not "the truth". It may be a fact that a person has a certain opinion, but the opinion itself is not "truth".
3) Something that is described as having "a grain of truth" is mostly a lie.
