Rather than telling someone they are stupid for having certain beliefs or ideas, or that those beliefs are unfounded, we should be looking into it and finding out the truth as to why people have those beliefs or ideas, and not be afraid to find that our beliefs and ideas may not be all that there is to the truth.

Not only would that help us to learn about those that have views that oppose ours, it would help us to find common ground that we could build on to help solve the problems we need to solve.
