Nice link. I liked the part about how errors are not mistakes unless we don't acknowledge them and leave them uncorrected, (not in the late president's exact words). I would feel much better if we would acknowledge that we have not only had errors made during this war, but that we would get to the root of the problem and make sure we fixed it so that those errors would not be repeated.

I also liked the part about embracing the dissenters, rather than scorning them and looking seriously into the allegations they make. Rather than telling someone they are stupid for having certain beliefs or ideas, or that those beliefs are unfounded, we should be looking into it and finding out the truth as to why people have those beliefs or ideas, and not be afraid to find that our beliefs and ideas may not be all that there is to the truth.

Not only would that help us to learn about those that have views that oppose ours, it would help us to find common ground that we could build on to help solve the problems we need to solve.
