Why is it our problem? Why should we have to sort out the world's woes?
The decision to go into Afghanistan was a no-brainer.
The decision to go into Iraq? Partly a 20/20 hind-sight issue, partly a judgment call. Don't want to get bogged down into that.
But like any good party (or bad party), there comes a time when you have to make a decision on when to go home.
And considering the multi-billion dollar price tags involved, it's a decision which should not hide behind empty rhetoric.
On a darkly sarcastic level, totally ignoring the issues of loss of life, could Japan's decision to attack America be viewed as an "investment" considering how much they ended up gaining out of losing the war?
