The majority of people belong to a religion which "excludes" people. Christians believe non-Christians will burn in hell. Muslims believe THEY will get their virgins.

A lot of religions have the aspect of having the believers as "special" and other people excluded.

Should we bring up Andrea Yates's Christianity? Or maybe the KKK as an example?
