Not only are militias a good thing, but they are proven effective. I am a member of a militia myself, and we stand to set an example for the local community and to scare the undesireables enough to ensure they do not harass the good moral population. The police and military can not always be where they are needed and there just isn't enough funding for either, thats where militias can fill in.
