Apparently you didn't do your homework before you mouthed off to me and Islam. "Holy war" was coined by the Christian crusaders. Now that's a round-house kick to the face isn't it?

Armed conflict of Jihad is only a slice of the pie of the entire broad definition. A Jihadist could simply mean someone in an inward spiritual struggle to form a more perfect faith or lifestyle. Jihad soley meaning "holy war" is a common misconception in the western culture. In fact the word itself means "to exert utmost effort, to strive, struggle" in Arabic.

And you say that "many" Muslims take Jihad to soley mean a radical holy war, yet you have nothing to back that up. Its quite clear that the radical groups you see on television only make up a small minority of the entire Muslim community. Unfortunately the extremists have the power and wealth, as do Christian radicals in the United States.

But I'm not denying that holy war is a part of Islam. It surely is. But terrorism is not. In fact, terrorism is diametrically opposed to the true teachings of Islam. Muslims believe in protecting the innocent, women, and children, during war.
