Idiot.
Actually the dictionary only proves my claim. That it is a much broader definition other than "holy war". But instead you only display your ability to look on the surface of things, just to insult me. Do you always look on just the surface?

If you actually read the full definition, you would know it does mean different things. Plus, I might add, this is an english dictionary, defining an Arabic word. Thus it is going to give the definition of the word that English, or western, speakers percieve it to be. In this case, "holy war", which itself was coined by Christian crusaders in their own religious violence.

n.

1. A Muslim holy war or spiritual struggle against infidels.
2. A crusade or struggle: “The war against smoking is turning into a jihad against people who smoke” (Fortune).

Again, I'm not denying that "holy war" is a part of Jihad. It certainly is. Its just that westerners tend to confuse the definition of Jihad by meaning soley holy war; when its not. Westerners also tend to confuse Jihad with terrorism. When its not. Jihad is supposed to be a just (in their opinion) war. And above all, it must obey by the code of conduct under Muhammad. Which states that no innocents should be killed, nor should any trees or animals be destroyed. So as you can see, terrorism is diametrically opposed to Islam.

Also, is it at all possible that you could perhaps debate without being such an asshole?
