dmk | You're absolutely right. The most conservative (or most liberal) candidate usually wins the nomination then adopts a more moderate stance for the actual election campaign. Someone like McCain is too moderate already to have a chance in winning the Republican primary. | McCcain has the best chance of winning if he can get the Rep nomination. Americans are sick of extremist and want a moderate. McCain ranks highly among Dems, moderates, and rep. He ranks lowly with GOP. Guiliani, if he gets the rep. nomination he will lose the election. He has too many skeletons in the closet. The bad thing for MCain is that he will have problems winning the rep nomination, because he can't rally the GOP base.
Recently, Hillary is being pushed to the middle. If she runs for it she will take it. She will easy win the Dem nomination. The media is making her out to be a moderate. Newt has said nice things about her lately. Pat Buchannan has said "she is the man to beat" If they can paint her as a moderate she will win the presidency, The republicans may not have enough power to convert the moderates. |
