As someone that isn't religious, and someone that is secular...I don't think "evil" is a fitting word for basically anything in this world. As members of the human race, every being has positive aspects. As far as I'm concerned, "evil" is just a point of view. Because you must remember, the people of those states see us as evil.

But I will agree with you that those three countries are among some of the worst political models; North Korea recieving the most disdain in that regard (and as far as I'm concerned, its perhaps one of the worst states to rise in the history of human civilization). Although I must say that there are many much worse regimes out there than Iran or Syria.
