I think the minimum wage is well intentioned, but its purpose is outdated.
A rise in the minimum wage won't actually signifigantly impact the price of goods, but it might limit the number of people working at an establishment, leading to layoffs and overburdened staff. The mimimum wage is more of a burden on small business than anything else, and although big business might abuse the opportunity, I don't believe in limiting growth. If workers want higher wages, they can negotiate for them. I see no reason for the federal government to get involved. My political compass
