 I see no reason why alcohol and tobacco cigarettes are legal, but marijuana is not. Any argument applied against "marijuana" can be applied to demonstrate why tobacco and alcohol should be illegal.
The main difference is that the tobacco and alcohol industries have their base and lobbyists fully in place.
