I am sorry but using Yaser Esam Hamdi as a poster boy for the President violating a citizens rights is ridiculous and just goes to show the lengths of which the Bush haters will go.

While Hamdi has a claim to American citizenship, where was he captured???? Answer that question. He was not taken from his home in the middle of the night by some brown shirt, nor was he arrested in front of his family by the police to be sent to the Gulag. No, he was captured by the U.S. Military during hostilities in AFghanistan. He was transported to Gitmo as all other detainees, and it was there that it was discovered he was an American citizen.

But the fact of the matter remains that he was captured in armed conflict with the US Military. Hmmm you know according to the Constitution, Mr Hamdi should killed. Treason, and armed conflict against the nation in a foreign country is treason, is specifically mentioned in the Constitution, as well as its penalty, death.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles
