Actually, I think the idea of bringing the vaccinators to the people is a great idea - the hospital where I work does this for employees by setting up flu shot clinics in the cafeteria. Ideally these "Vote and Vaccinate" clinics would be at all polling places, and would all be the same cost to all. One should not need to vote to get the shot. The impetus behind them is to vaccinate those who need the vaccine, not to influence the vote. See Vote and Vaccinate for the website on the project. They first did these clinics in 2004 in 60 polling places in these states:
Florida: Pasco County Health Department (ID# 051979).
Iowa: Worth County Public Health Department (ID# 051981).
Kansas: Marshall County Health Department (ID# 051977).
Louisiana: Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (ID# 051982).
Maine: State of Maine Public Health Nursing Program (ID# 051975).
Massachusetts: Boston Public Health Commission (ID# 051985).
Missouri: St. Louis County Department of Health (ID# 051987).
Montana: Custer County Health Department (ID# 051989).
New York: Niagara County Health Department (ID# 051976).
Pennsylvania: Erie County Department of Health (ID# 051984).
South Dakota: Indian Health Service Pine Ridge (ID# 051980).
Utah: Utah Department of Health (ID# 051988 ).
You can read the "lessons learned" on the same website.
