Johnston - described as 92 by her family but 88 by the medical examiner - lived in fear in the crime-ridden Vine City neighborhood of northwest Atlanta.

On the night of Nov. 21, a group of plainclothes officers burst in, searching for drugs. They had obtained a "no-knock" warrant, saying an informant bought drugs at the house.

Johnston opened fire with a pistol, wounding three officers before she was shot to death.
1) "No-Knock" warrants are a tricky thing. I can understand the purpose for them, but at the same time if you're in a crime-ridden neighborhood, and somebody busts in your door without a warning "claiming" that they are the police, that creates an understandable conflict.
Anybody can "say" they are the police.

I don't know how the police currently do it, but hopefully they make it plain as quickly as possible that they are the police to eliminate anybody shooting at what they think could just be aggressive burglars.

2) Hopefully the informant is being castrated as we speak. The whole situation stinks. Period. But the smell isn't necessarily coming from where Sharpton says.
I wonder if the informant could be charged with manslaughter... ??
Somebody died because of his actions.

3) "Racism"?
People like Sharpton lose credibility when they shoot first and don't bother to ask questions later. How the heck could he label this as "racism"?
Did the police just decide one afternoon that it would be fun to bust down the door of a 92 year old woman? Is that what Sharpton thinks?
HOW is this "racism"?
The 92-year old woman had a pistol? If Sharpton has evidence that it was planted, then show it. Otherwise, this is just another example of "crying wolf" with results that backfire on his efforts...
