| I think that the force and reward that drives all war and terrorist activities is the "doctrine of manifest destiny"... Every group wanting to spread it's influence and enlarge it's territory. And somehow, the gains that are made here on earth are carried as a spiritual security in part, as if to say, "God is on {our} side." So partly I think war and terror reign from a fear that is attempting to be assauged by material and substantial victories here on earth. And in the largest way, this strategy appeals to the greed and approbation of man. There are many who do make of themselves martyrs, and that for a hereafter reward, but more so, and this is only my perception, for the gains to a cause they believe in. And with the thought that any gain that can be made by their contribution must mean that they are right. Even if they die, they figure they die right. And besides that, they are under the influence of evil leaders who in their greed and control, seek the material wealth and title that is gained by an army or terror-bandits. And they chapter and verse a holy book to justify their actions and proclaim their entitlement. Here and now, let alone in eternity. OD |
