The reasons for this are obvious, I feel. Lets take one of my points: I say that legalizing pot would make its use more widespread. I say this is bad because it would create more slurred-speech citizens. This, we don't need! Do you think society needs more slurred-speech citizens? You may think pot is used extensively because many people you know use it. Me? I think I've met one pot user in my entire lifetime (And I was born before Hitler was dead. In addition, I lived in California for 14 years. So don't attack me for having limited experiences.) I dispute your claim that pot is already widely used. As for the (leftist) Canadian Senate, did they do this research themselves? No? Then who did they pay to do the study or where did they get it? And how many of them are users? They may have chosen a certain group, company, university to do it because they wanted a certain result. This is still not convincing. You claim that alcohol has a far more negative and profound effect on society than pot. This is your opinion. We should change policy based on your opinion? Others have opinions too, that differ from yours.
So you are talking about something you have no personal experience with and then you discredit an investigation done by the Canadian government. Our government found the same to be true about pot until the Nixon administration started lying about it.

Alcohol has been proven to have a far more detrimental affect to society. That is why it makes all the sense in the world to offer a more safe alternative and end the obviously failed prohibition, considering the fact that the article orignially posted in this thread displayed that marijuana is the largest cash crop in America (a fact you continue to avoid).

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.
