| Reverse Racism? I would say that I am a person who is open to all types of people. I do hate crack slinging street folk and that is as far as my hate goes.
In the early 90's I had a part time job doing janatorial work at a place called the Martin Luther King center. I was placed there by the state employment office. It wasn't a hard job or anything. It was a place that helped out black people, financially, that needed it. I worked there 2 hours a night, 7 days a week. I was told by the director I was going to be offered the full time position(with great benefits and decent pay) when it opened up because they liked my work and I did more in the two hours per day than the day guy who had the 40 hour a week job. Well they ended up let the other guy go (he happened to be black). I asked about the full time position and the director of the place told me right out that the board of directors wanted a black man to have the job. They didn't even have any candidates. They didn't care as long as the new guy was black. They ran a newspaper add and ended up hiring someone who was black. I ended up quiting because for two months I was promised the job and then, because I was white, I wasn't given the promised job. I guess I could have sued but I didn't feel right about it, not wanting to seem prejudice.
About 6 months later the lady that was the director ran for Mayor. She ran as a Republican.
Everything is not always as cut and dry as some would make it out to be.
Anyway, that was my personal experience with this subject. Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong. ~Richard Armour There are many men of principle in both parties in America, but there is no party of principle. ~Alexis de Tocqueville
