You know this whole bilingual thing is crap. Those who immigrated here in the early 1900's adapted to the culture by learning English. English helps to make the individual fit into society and helps to enable them to find and qualify for better jobs, damn it helps to end poverty.

Don't believe that, then check out California, who ended bilingual education in 1998. Since that time, hispanic test scores in math have increased 19% and in reading 14%, damn it helps with decreasing the gap in education.

Something as simple as language levels the playing field. No money, no major government program, instead something that all immigrants who have come to this country have learned, by learning the language you perform better.
