However, for this to be taken seriously, there is a word missing that is very important: MAY. Those things MAY happen. They may not happen. They may also happen to girls who HAVE fathers. Every - EVERY - situation is different. Your author will NEVER convince me that the daughter of Jodie Foster, a single woman with no live-in male companion, is less happy or less well-adjusted than the daughter of John Wayne Gacy, a full-time father.
