It isn't only homosexuals who have aids. | I'm fully aware that it isn't only homosexuals that have AIDS.
But here's the deal: I have not given blood for the past 2 years because I was doing work in the Dominican Republic, in late February of 2005. Because of that, they "discriminated against me". I COULD have lied to the Red Cross, and given blood anyway - after all, I'm on my 3rd or 4th gallon - and I should probably be trying to win some competition or something... But I didn't lie, and I didn't give blood.
Why? Because I don't want to put vulnerable, innocent people at unnecessary risk. And guess what? Whatever possible problems there could have been with my blood (I believe that Malaria was the possible problem) could have been detected immediately. But that is NOT the case with HIV. Now... are you going to try to defend lying to the American Red Cross, and putting vulnerable, innocent people at risk, just because somebody is being an egotistical creep? |
