I am very sad for you and sickened how people have treated you and your family. Those people may have said they were liberal, but they were not peacemakers.
I am very sorry. And though I never was in any way aligned to a group of people under any kind of organized umbrella of liberalism or even any organized group for pacifism, I want to simply apologize cos I am another fellow human being. And people ought not do stuff like that to one another...
