I think it's a well-established reality of the apathy of American politics.
However, I don't think the most dangerous thing about this issue is that there are lot of people so apathetic that they don't vote at all.
I think the most dangerous aspect of this issue is that there is an increasing amount of people casting wholly uneducated votes for whatever reason. Obviously, if someone can't locate Iraq on a map, I think I'll feel much better with them staying at home than out voting.
