How would you feel about at least putting them to hard labor? With the emphasis on HARD...
The prisons are already getting very over crowded, which is why so MANY new prisons are going up. So these new prisons along with more guards is going to hit our tax dollars pretty hard also right? So money wise, this is also a argument for capital punishment but I could be completely wrong. I just want to see your views on this.
1. Most of those sentenced to death die of old age, not the death penalty. That means there is not additional cost to keep them alive, you are paying for food, clothes (etc...) for the same amount of time- the rest of their lives.

2. Generally it is the poor who get the death penalty. They cannot afford an attorney, so the tax payers pay the attorney costs.

3. Capital cases usually have 4x more pretrial motion, this means about 4x the attorney fees and also more court fees.

4. Death row inmates are kept separately from other inmates, this is less space efficient that sharing cells. Thus, it would actually help the overcrowded jails to just issue life sentences.
When the president talks to God
Do they drink near beer and go play golf
While they pick which countries to invade
Which Muslim souls still can be saved?
I guess god just calls a spade a spade
