In my lifetime it has only gotten worse. When I was growing up I looked up to great artist that were thought provoking and challenging. While there are still some around today they are not household names like in the past. Now Brittany Spears is a household name. This is the price we pay when we treat our culture just as another commodity. The price of a painting now makes more news than the painting itself
