The only exception would have been in the military, where every man and woman have to have perfect hearing once he or she enlists. I have not known of a case where a hearing-impaired person was ever accepted into the military outside of the service academies and prep/military schools.
To see a visually impaired man hire a hearing-impaired man is wonderful. The late-Helen Keller was both, and she went to have a good life. |
