When someone very brave like tadpole, or anyone else who is willing to defend the flag at all costs, are defending the history and futures of America (in my eyes). This may be too extreme, but watching an American flag burn, is like watching an innocent man die right in front of you. You get that feeling that you don't want to have when you are seeing something like this.
