Then you can apologise

Gary's been banned for his actions towards others on the board, from what I've seen. Not for any 'name-calling', but because of his nature to be abusive, accusatory, and generally off-topic in just about every thread he posts in.
Ali, this is off-topic.

Get back to the issue of abortion rights

If it truly is a woman's body and her right to choose, then if she chooses to have the baby then should she not accept the responsiblity?

Furthermore, if the man is responsible if a woman has a baby, then should he not have a say in whether or not she decides to have the baby.

Come now. If it truly were a woman's body and her right to choose, well then there would be no need for dead beat dad laws now would there. Just another in the long list of hypocrisy when it comes to woman and abortion.

Depends upon the way you look at it...

The father would have financial responsibility, but the mother would have the physical requirement of carrying the child IN ADDITION TO the subsequent financial responsibility.

Since the responsibility levels are not equal, comparing the 'deadbeat parent' (yes, women are subject to this as well) laws to abortion or pregnancy doesn't really work.

Exactly my point.

The situations are not equal, and will never be equal, at least in our lifetimes, so to try to make them equal is doing women an injustice, IMO.

I personally am opposed to abortion (unless medically necessary) and think that men should step up and take care of the child. I also think that women who choose to abort due to lack of responsibility are just as bad as men who abandon their children.

We like to vilify the men and hold them accountable, but where is the womans accountability? This is basically a womans infringement of mens rights. I support equal rights not special rights.
================================================== ===
The woman's accountability comes in when she raises a child, with or without financial support from the father. She's the one struggling to make ends meet, educate the child, provide care and supervision, etc. While a man might be forced to pay for it some of it, he doesn't actually have to participate in the day to day stuff if he doesn't want to.

Carrying and raising a child isn't a meal ticket for women and the decision to keep an unwanted pregnancy may not be an easy one. yes, there is an element of unfairness to the whole thing, but since only one gender can get pregnant and bear a child, I think that by default, it will stay unfair.

Howdy stranger!!! ((((((HUGZ)))))) Thanks and so far, so good with the pregnancy. So I've got my toes crossed it continues to go well personally. Tomorrow's my amnio-whatchamahicky, so a bit nervous there just simply because it involves needles. ROTFLMAOL!!!

By the way, it's TWINS!!! Don't know how much you've read so far, so just wanted to relate that if you were unaware of that yet.

Thanks for the congrats and glad you're here hon.

Twins?! That's terrific! I never had an amnio, so I can't offer any kind of sage advice. I'm not a needle fan and would probably flip out.

I had no idea that everyone was here. I've been off pretty much all boards, except for an occasional post on HuffingtonPost. I see so many folks that I remember from the Yahoo days.

How far along are you?

Neither have I, it'll be my first amnio. I just wish there was a way they could sedate me for it, I'm that bad with needles. To top it off, they're doing a second test (similar to an amnio, but just drawing blood) tomorrow as well. So, I get 2 needles in one day...EWWW!!!

By the way, if you want to see them, I posted the ultrasound here at http://www.defendingthetruth.com/off...ow-post-3.html (Not Sure How To Post This...) It's their first baby pic of many more.
