If whining was an Olympic event you would be the US team captain!

Or maybe Tristan might put up a strong challenge

This is the problem with message boards. Since tone of voice cannot be heard, some people project too much and read into things that which is not there.

For future reference, I am a green eyed redhead. With the temper that goes with it. "Whining" simply isn't in my genetic makeup.

Whining is for weaklings. You know, the type who can't say no and then whine that it's the other persons fault for 'tempting' them.

So you've never been seduced?

Never committed an indiscretion which you later regretted?

Never had a secret assignation which you knew was madness - but you still went along??

Never met a man who sent your pulse racing and made you throw good sense to the winds??

Well sure!

But I don't whine that it was 'his fault' for seducing me. I made the decision to do whatever I did. And if I regret that later, then it's my own damn fault.

True, they are the ones who get pregnant, but they don't get pregnant all by themselves.

As I think Gary touched on already, girls just naturally have more at stake when engaging in sexual activity.

But don't get me wrong, boys should learn responsibility too. Without him ever having to say it, I fully understood as a teenager that had I knocked a girl up and tried to walk away from it, my father would have broken both of my legs... LOL.

As it was, I was so horribly shy, so I ended up not losing my virginity until I was well into my 20s... which I'm thinking was a good thing. I'm not sure I would have been responsible enough as a teen to handle sex at that age anyway.

I don't whine.

I man-bitch sometimes.

But I never whine.

Good for your father. Both my kids know that *I* am not raising their kids, so they better be prepared to before having them.

My daughter, I don't worry about so much. At this point in her life, she's seen enough of her girlfriends have kids to have any kind of 'romantic' feelings regarding motherhood.

I worry more about my son. This girlfriend, that girlfriend, some of them aren't around long enough for me to get to know them well enough to be able to halfway predict what they would do.

My son does know though, that should he get one of them pregnant, and they decide to have the child, he WILL support that child, and he WILL finish college. It may take him a few years more than he planned, but neither are negotiable.

Bitching and whining are two different things. Bitching is venting frustration. Whining is basically admitting that you're weak, helpless and have given up. Not to mention being a mindbendingly annoying sound!

I didn't even allow whining from my kids. I always told them 'mom can't hear that tone of voice, but it's irritating and if you can't stop right now, you will go to your room until you can stop'.
