And, if parents can force their teenage daughters to carry a pregnancy to term by not giving consent for her to have an abortion, then why couldn't they, on the other hand, force their teenage daughters to have an abortion by not consenting to allow her access to proper medical care to carry a pregnancy to term?

Nice one, BD!

For that matter, the new teen mom also usually needs massive monetary and logistical support after that unwanted child arrives, more burdens that the unwilling grandparent have to shoulder.

Yup, if we are going to let the parents fight about it while the girl sits and waits to hear her fate, this one has to go both ways.

Which just proves how ridiculous the original idea is.

Again if you are not happy with the court system then you need to work on the justice system where you live.

I have been to court in a large city. It was very quick and the case was expedited very effectively.

File for the case to be expedited when there is a life at stake.

A lot of people regret the 'what if's' in their lives. What if I hadn't gotten married instead of going to college? What if I hadn't gotten pregnant at 16? I would imagine that lots of women regret having abortions. But I would also imagine that a lot of them don't.

My daughter a few years back got pregnant. She was on blood thinners at the time. It was one those "not supposed to be able to happen" pregnancy's. Her beau at the time told her she had an option of abortion. She snapped back "You may be an option! Babies are a gift of God." He decided he did not wish to be an option, (they married later). Some days have not all been roses for her but I am sure she will never regret that decision. She has been able to spend more time with her third child than she ever had the opportunity or the time to spend with her first two children. She would share with me everyday the joyous moments those small bundles bring that she had missed while mom watched over the older two.
Sound's like things worked out well for your daughter. That's good. But that doesn't mean that the same choice would work out as well for another woman.

Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard.

Parents are responsible for their childrens medical care.

Are you saying that the state should require parents to sign for approval for teenagers to remain pregnant? If so then you need to talk to your legislators.

Can you imagine saying that to a pregnant girl's father, where his wife is insisting on dragging the matter to court?

"Fixing" the court system will take MUCH longer than waiting for a hearing, which in turn will take MUCH longer than the end of the legal abortion window for the girl in question.

Thankfully, we don't have to worry about that scenario, because your plan is not in effect.

Improbable, the parent is not the one who had the sex that created that teenagers pregnancy.

It was simply a reply to one of your queries CF. I have known those that have gotten pregnant that was not intended and those who have carried to term a child for adoption and those who have great regrets.

Not all cases are the same no doubt.
