I'd also like to say that abortion clinic's are not being bombed anymore. Name the last time it happened.
That can't be done until about 14 weeks. And you don't get the results in half an hour the way you do on TV. By the time you get the results, the mother is going to be about five months along. Any doctor will tell you that it's safer for the mother to have a first trimester abortion rather than a second trimester abortion.

So, since your law puts an undue burden on the mother, and risks her health one one mans 'say so', I can guarantee you it will be tossed by the courts. Even if some judge who wants to get his name in the paper is willing to issue a stay on that mans word, the court of appeals will shoot him down. He's going to have to come up with some offer of proof that he, and only he, could be the father before he can get an order to delay the abortion until DNA testing can be done.

As for clinic bombings; terrorists haven't attacked the US in years. We still have the department of homeland security. Something not happening for a while is no assurance that it won't happen again.

Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard.

I agree 100% Catus. And Roe was not a law, it was the opinion by the court that Texas had infringed on the rights of Roe when enforcing an unconstitutinal law banning abortions. So it simply stated that Texas law was unconstitutional, and that states do not have the right to ban first trimester abortions, but could regulate at what point after the first trimester was the limit. We need not go back and redefine anything, and people are free to think that it is something that shouldn't be taken lightly or done too quickly, etc. But the fact is one cannot place those conditions on anyone other then themselves. A woman's body and mind are not subject to what another person thinks is the right thing. We as women can decide what is right for ourselves and our families, we don't need a state mommy or daddy to tell us.

I don't know, it seems if "women" can't figure out how to stop getting pregnant in the first place, knowing "what's right for yourselves" might also be a decision that you need help with. Obviously you need help with something.

Good God Fx! You are easy!!!

Now I count myself a feminist. And am not unequivocally pro-life. BUT that said, I do believe that for women to truly know equal rights and the right to choose, one must factor in equality of men.

And that means the rights and responsibilities of both birth father and birth mother. And that right to choose to have sex, joins the two in equal responsibilities and rights to the responsibilities to whatever the consequences are after the sex.

I'm just not "feeling" this debate today. Plus there's more fun elsewhere on the site right now.

The rights and responsibilities are very different. The father does not carry the same responsibility. He doesn't carry the child in his body, or give birth to it. It isn't an equal process.
