If you could hear blood
Gurgling from ruptured lungs

If you could witness Vile sores on
innocent tongues

You would not tell me - Not with such pride and such
zest - The lies of history Dulce et decorum est

Pro patria mori

Some desperate glory Pro patria mori

As witness disturbs the story Pro
patria mori Stand firm boys breathe the glory.

As much as I would like to claim credit for writing that, it is really part of the lyrics from "The Latin One." 10,000 maniacs circa 1981

Well it is a refreshing change to see you posting something intelligent, heartfelt and serious...

Even if it was a quote from someone else.

How many millions more were there that neither you nor I have any way of knowing about?

There are no reliable statistics for that time because many, many cases were never reported. You might as well try to compare the number of donuts consumed in the U.S. to the number of starfish in the ocean. Your statistics would be just as reliable.
Remember in school we were taught that the reason so many women and children died in the pioneer days was because of childbirth and disease?

Well, I saw a special, and they are thinking that it was blamed on childbirth and disease, but was really caused by abuse. Not all, but a lot more then ever thought.

Well, last I looked, the right to not be affronted isn't one of those fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

It's very simple. Against abortion? Don't have one.

Roe is not settled law. If it were settled we would not be seeing challenges to it year in and year out. The truth is Roe is far from settled. In actuality the only part of Roe that remains is the basic premise of Roe, that within the pneumbra created in Griswold finding privacy within liberty a woman has a right to have an abortion. The remaining portions of Roe, namely the Trimester rule has been overturned in favor of Viability and Undue Burden established in Casey.

Roe set up a definitive trimester rule, however, that has been change to viability which has moved from 24 weeks to as early as 20 weeks in rare cases. In truth, the pro-choice movement themselves abandoned Roe decision a long time ago, for if they had not they would not have been so quick to oppose Partial Birth abortion.

Today woman are guilty of the same crime that men were in that of treating someone as property. Instead of woman being subjugated it is the unborn. I am sorry but as Laura Ingraham as often said, any woman who needs to have an abortion because of an unwanted pregnancy today is a failure as a responsible individual. With Birth Control and Morning After Pills there is no excuse.

Like it or not, with rights come duties and responsiblities. If you want the right to reproductive freedom then you have the responsibility to ensure that you have sex responsibly!!!!!!!!!!!

The simple truth still remains, if you do not want to become pregnant do not have sex. If you do, and you become pregnant the fault is all your own.

I find it totally reprehensible that it is the woman that has all the power in this matter. If a woman becomes pregnant and does not want to have the child she has the right to have an abortion, the man has no say in the matter. At the same time if a woman becomes pregnant and wants to have the child and the man does not, he is still financially responsible. I am sorry ladies you can't have it both ways. Either step up and be trully equally or shut the hell up because until you do you are playing the game of being unequal. And one day it will wind up biting you in your collective asses.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles
