I have been feeling contemplative today, since it's my birthday and I'm home alone (for now).

You may want to consider that in some cases where there is no solution, the problem exists only in the way you are looking at the situation.

There is no problem with being lesbian, or deaf. These things just are.

How people react to these things, well, that may be an actual problem.

No need to give it a moment. That mode of thinking is just taking a situation at face value and not looking at the big picture. Being deaf IS a problem. It may not be a problem for humans in developed nations, but in Africa where you might be being stalked by a Lion or some other carnivorous predator, it could be the matter of life and death. Just because we have supermarkets, guns, and have irradicated our natural predators doesn't diminish the importance of hearing.

The same can apply to many aspects of sexual deviant drives other than heterosexuality. But just taken at face value, it can rationalized that they aren't really "problems" either. It's just other people's reactions to them.

That concept isn't new to me. But just as bogus.

Actually that in itself is also part of the problem with having a deviant sexual drive. You don't know that you have a problem. It's consistent among all of them.

It feels "right" for you to love your own gender. And others feel that way about children and other species. To them, it's just the way they feel.
