Just another thing to note. A child cant walk into a emergency room to get treatment without parental consent. A Child cannot sign a legaly binding contract of any kind. Are we really willing to let children decide on there own, with out even notifiying the parent, that they are in need of a abortion?? If we are ready to give children such freedom, then we need to rewrite many laws regarding the restrictions we place on children. I also see this as giving a child a license to have sex, without consiquence. Are these the morals that we wish to instill in our children??

Grace, I have children. I have two daughters actually. And one of them is 14. So I think I do have experience here. And my 14 year old is not having sex. And I recoil at the state telling me how to raise my children. So much so, that they aren't given all the immunizations that the state tries to force them to get. But I'll tell you this, if my daughter was to get pregnant, and if she wanted to terminate it, that would be her choice, not mine. And I would hope that she would tell me first, and allow me to support her in any way she needed. And hopefully I raised her well enough to trust me. The state wouldn't be forcing abortion on girls, only ensuring that their Constitutional rights were protected.

Let alown letting PP have more say over your child than you do.
Well I have children and I agree with the doctrine of allowing teens to choose abortion without having parental consent. And the thought does not make me vomit. I recognize the fact that in some families the teen would be forced to take the pregnancy to term, and in many cases the parents might force two kids to marry, or in some cases it could lead to abuse of the child. It's the young lady's choice in my opinion and modern medicine provides a safe and effective solution should that be the child's choice.

Unfortunately, abstinence is a difficult concept to reconcile with a hormone driven child - it rarely works, as I've seen teens who've taken an abstinence vow break it all too often and even have to resort to abortion to resolve a difficult dilemma.

How do you know the state wouldnt be forcing these kids to have abortions?? You dont know what fear factors they would use on these kids. Especialy if it was a councler from PP talking to them. Children do not have a right to abortions in the constitution. They have a right to be fed, clothed, sheltered, and educated without being abused. These decisions have far to many implications to not have a parent involved, even if it meant that they were only notifyed and had a chance to talk to the child before hand. Not that I would be ok with that either, but to remove the parent altogether is criminal.

Thats cause PP has bought you with the millions of dollars spent since the 70's convincing you that abortion is a "right", or a "choice". Who's going to pay for these kids to abort? ME??

You pay for all kinds of things that you probably don't agree with. And the fact is PP is not the state. And every girl facing the very adult reality of motherhood should have all her optionis in front of her. It is her own decision, not her parents.

PP is state funded. And federal funded. A parent shouldnt be left in the dark regarding there childrens health care. A parent should AT LEAST have the right to influance there childs decisions as much as PP. Who the hell is the state, the goverment, or PP, that they have more rights and influance over our children????

What about the girl whose father is the one who impregnated her? Should she be forced to get his approval and consent for a termination? And don't act like that hasn't happened, it has, many times, unfortunately. What then?

I have two children and would much rather my daughter got a safe legal abortion without my knowledge than have to resort to an unsafe one.

Any parent who puts their daughters well being above their own need for control, would feel the same.
Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard.
