I totally agree. Stupidity does not choose a gender.

There are some "truths" that are wrong, in that they are "wrongs to society"...as in ills. For instance, sexism, agism, racism, slavery, child abuse, pedophilia....just b/c they occur doesn't make them right...

But it can be argued that men were the protectors of the group so they led the group, there is a reason for that IMHO. But anything good and just can be perverted and made into something bad.

And we don't live in caveman times anymore. We have weapons for protection. And if women weren't foraging or finding food, people would have been starving to death. Hunting was not as common or productive as people thought.

But predators were common, and do you think the men didn't forage too? Someone built the huts, made the tools, scouted the next settlement. Life wasn't simple. There are still hunter gatherer societies today. And most are still led by men.

There are only about 3000 thousand San that still follow a totally traditional lifestyle of hunting and gathering (out of a population of 95,000). Groups (or bands) usually number 10 to 15 individuals and move around frequently to find new foods to gather, water resources and to follow migrating game. Shelter is temporary and made of branches tied together in a semi-circle with grass tufts on top. Groups are made up of family members and there is no official leader or chief. The San men traditionally hunt and the women are responsible for gathering. Hunting is a collaborative exercise and the meat is always shared among the group. The San are expert hunters with bows and arrows tipped with poison. Gathering has less social significance but generally provides up to 80% of the food.

Here's a take on how women were "protected" by men in hunter gatherer societies. I was a little off according to this new fangled interpretation, but women still were "kept" rather than equals it would seem.

Here's another hunter gatherer civilization. How do you think women fit into this violent society?
