South Dakota just won't quit
South Dakota has a wish to be in the headlines as the leader of the backwards states.

"Abortion ban on ballot
AP

PIERRE (AP) Supporters of a statewide abortion ban said Monday they have filed petition signatures to put the proposal on the November general election ballot in South Dakota.

Leslee Unruh, executive director of VoteYesForLife.com, said the petitions were turned into the secretary of state's office late Monday afternoon. State officials said it might take up to a month to make sure enough valid signatures are on the petitions, she said.

Unruh said supporters collected 46,393 signatures, more than twice the number needed to put the proposal on the ballot for a statewide public vote.

The initiated law would prohibit abortions except in cases of rape or incest.

Leaders of the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families, an abortion rights group, responded by saying they think voters will reject it, as they did to a more encompassing ban two years ago."
The greatest danger to liberty lurks in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.

What is with these people?

It only takes about two seconds of consideration to realize that in the very unlikely event that this morally questionable ban passes, it will just make women seeking abortions to cross state lines to obtain them.

It will accomplish nothing, except perhaps make the purveyors of the ban feel good about their "moral superiority."

Let's hope it passes then so people will be able to feel better for themselves and the baby killing immoral people can have their "medical procedure" elsewhere. Maybe on that boat posted about earlier during a hurricane.

Isn't patting yourself on the back for your moral superiority called "self-righteousness"? Isn't self-righteousness a sin?

And judging others on their morality....tsk, tsk, tsk, isn't that a sin, too?

There are just so many people who are willing to help God by pointing out other peoples' sins.

Maybe THEY are. My God really couldn't care less. But personally I think that abortion is killing an should be illegal under 99% of the cases.

Then you shouldn't have any problem with gay people adopting these unwanted children.

Who are you to sit in judgment of women in a situation you will never encounter? What entitles you to judge what is moral or not? You are simply a man who feels superior to others based on your 'holier than thou' belief system. You are the parent the authorities don't want to force a pregnant child to have to face and endure. You are the man who would force women to endure back alley abortions and risk their lives in order to determine their own futures.

He's Lord, God, and King (in a non-gay way), and don't you forget it!

Who are you to tell me that I can't? Don't act like I am alone in believing the way I do or even that my sentiments are rare.

I am simply a man that thinks a woman who purposely puts herself in the position where she might get pregnant, and does, should be responsible for continuing that process. That's all. If she caught AIDS, she would be responsible for that, with much more dire possible results.

And if she decides to get a back alley abortion...good luck wit dat.
