Wow.

So, I guess all those 4 year olds that are adopted and/or in foster care better just give up the ghost, huh?

Why? They have someone to do these things for them, thats the whole point, if they didnt have someone to do provide these things, they would die. In other words, they are just as much in need of total provision as a unborn baby. But then I think you knew what I was trying to say.

yes, apples and oranges, just like comparing a 4 year old child to a 6 week old foetus.

plenty of 20 year olds would have zero chance. and some 4 year olds would survive, against the odds. but this is pretty much irrelevant anyway. the issue of being independent of others is not a good way of defining when human life begins.

Grace, four year olds have nothing to do with abortion because they have been born, they are considered people under the law.

When a baby is born, it becomes independant from the mother, meaning it can survive without her. It needs care, obviously, but the point is that the child is no longer dependant on the bodily nutrients of another person to sustain it's life.
That is the point we are making here.

So if the mother dies so does the 4 year old? No one else can care for it?
