I've had a lot of people on line get very upset about mine and my husbands relationship, but it works for us. We just celebrated 30 years this month, and in all the couples we know, ours seems to be the least stressful marriage.

Congrats to you and your wife for finding what works for you.

And that right there is where we find our middle ground. If you're happy, I'm happy.

Good point, cat. As I remember, it was women who demanded change. And women who are still calling for equality in the workplace. Thanks be to the MEN who recognized that change was needed, and respected women enough to support that change.

Why do you think "many" women "need" abortions?

Quote:
Women were NOT happier in the 1950's. The unreliability of birth control led to a lot of illegal abortions, out-of-wedlock births (for which the woman involved paid dearly and men got off scot-free most of the time), shotgun weddings (which led to the soaring divorce rate), youthful marriages (soaring divorce rate again). Women were expected to be fulltime homemakers/mothers (no choice) unless their husbands were unable to support the family which was socially frowned upon. Women were frequently "knocked around" by husbands who were only "keeping them in their places". Men may miss the kind of "authority" they had in the 1950's, but women don't miss that at all.
Were you there? Women were respected more in the 1950's than they are today, yes of course there were dominate men as there are today but the norm was an equal sharing in a relationship of marriage. My parents lived such an arrangement and my mother often got up at 4:00AM to prepare my dad coffee and a quick breakfast and then again prepared breakfast for us kids at normal time. My father worked hard all day and so did my mother playing out their normal roll models. Girls in school attended Home Economics and became experts in maintaining the home. If a woman approached a door it was instantly opened, if a woman had a flat tire I thought it was a law that the first man passing had to change it and only expect a thank you. If a young girl got pregnant then she went away before she was showing and all the neighbors were told a rich aunt had an inheritance and had taken her to Europe.

Some women today misuse the laws created for women when women were respected and protected against the bad men you describe, they often turn themselves into whores in dating situations and wonder why they are treated as whores. The working woman still does most of the house cleaning after she finished working so she actually has two jobs so I'd dare to say she was better off in the 1950's. In the 1950's sex was for procreation, young men were told to marry a virgin but to sew their wild seeds until they were ready to settle down. Duh, it hasn't changed other than women now whore around just like only boys were expected to.

I remember one day a church when a dominate wife corrected her husband in front of my mother and father, my dad took my brother and I to the side and asked, did you see that man, did you see the way he looked down when his wife corrected him, did you see his false smile, a smile like a possum eating warm cow shit out of a sand briar? Then he went on to tell us that there is nothing a woman can give you to cause you to lose your self respect the way that man has. Does your man/men have to look down and smile in disgrace?

So what is the proper function of government in establishing the appropriate "gravity"?
Killing a person regardless of size is murder unless someone can justify reasoning that it is necessary to save another life. If the Mars explorer found frozen fertilized Martian eggs in a chamber on Mars would the headlines read "life discovered on Mars"? Or, would the headlines read "Living cells with the capability of producing Martian Lifeforms discovered? Or "Former Martian cell tissue discarded was found"? The purpose of government is to guarantee all person's "nature's God" rights to LIFE, liberty and pursuit of happiness are protected. For me to conclude differently I would have to wish that your mom would have had the choice to say former human cell tissue was discarded and not be upset that you aren't here debating me on the topic.

How about men make an effort to control their sperm? No sperm, no pregnancy.

There are many reasons why women feel the need to have an abortion. Since it's the woman's body, it's her choice.

Women weren't respected more back then. They were treated like cooks, nannies, and incubators - not as equal partners in the relationship.

Women have arms and are more than capable of opening doors. Many of us have AAA, too. We're not helpless.

Even if the girl didn't want to give birth.....yeah, we know. How is that "respectful" towards women?

Wtf are you talking about? Women become prostitutes? Huh?

Again, you are making no sense here. Can you rephrase? Boys are expected to be "whores?" Whaaa?

Was he wrong? If so, then what's wrong with her correcting him?

A fetus is not a person. Neither a person nor a fetus has the right to take up residence inside another's body against their will.

Hate is NOT a 'family value.'
Feminism: the radical notion that women are human beings.

Why do you need AAA?

Aren't you girlies capable of changing a flat tyre, or is it too complicated for you, so you have to rely on a man?

Again?

Hardly. I just couldn't be bothered. I'd rather pay someone else to do it. Whatever genitalia the responding personnel has is irrelevant. There are quite a few female wrecker drivers in my area. We don't all cook and knit, y'know.

Do you have anything of value to add to this debate or are you just following me around the forum?

Yeah right

I enjoy swatting your feeble points like a summer roach.

But I don't hate you, infact I feel a lot of sympathy towards you.

I feel the same about your hate-filled prattle. Might be time for a new schtick, though. Your Fred Phelps routine is becoming rather tiresome.

I don't care what you think of me. If your objective here is to get under my skin you're going to have to try a LOT harder.

Against ones desire or will? There is quite a bit of difference. I guess a more appropriate species for a person that thinks like you would have chickens for relatives that way you could decide whether or not to incubate the fertilized egg. Birds are all universally assholes, they use them for sex, crapping and urinating... I wonder how a gay roster would know he is gay?

So a Martian fetus suspended frozen would not be an indication of former and continued Life on Mars?
